Study Permit is granted to a foreign national who intends to study at a recognized learning Institution inZambia.  Recognised learning Institutions are those that are registered with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology


Persons planning to undertake formal studies at registered educational institutions inZambia should apply for a Student Permit before travel to Zambia. Applications should be lodged with the Head Office of Zambia Immigration Lusaka.


dots.gif   PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A STUDY PERMIT

Study permits are issued to Non-Zambians who come to study in Zambia.  Applicants who are not resident in Zambia must submit their applications while outside the country.

Application Steps

  1. Complete application form (form 7 )
  2. Obtain two recent passport size photographs
  3. Police clearance from applicant's country of permanet residence. This applies to applicants  who are applying from outside Zambia and are 18 years and above
  4. Collect supporting documentation 

·         Photocopies of current passport;

·         Letter of acceptance from the Institution/school;

·         Status of the host, parent or guardian if any;

·         Chest X-Ray report

  1. Write a cover letter to Chief Immigration Officer
