SELF-EMPLOYMENT PERMIT |
The Self-Employment Permit is issued to foreign nationals who are investing in Zambia . The investment can be in the form of capital or financial resources injected into the Zambian economy.
Investors coming to Zambia are subjected to other investment rules and procedures, the Immigration Permit being cardinal in granting permission to the investor to operate in Zambia .

APPLICATION FOR SELF-EMPLOYMENT PERMIT |
Self Employment permits can be obtained while residing in Zambia. This allows for the exploration of investment opportunities. Please not that self-employment permits can only be issued to individuals above the age of 21. The following procedures for obtaining a self-employment permit shall be followed:
Application Steps
- Complete application form (Form 10 )
- Obtain two recent passport size photographs
- Police clearance from applicants country of permanent residence (proves that applicant has no previous criminal record)
- Gather supporting documentation including:
· Certified photocopies of passport
· Certificate of Incorporation or certificate of business registration inZambia
· List of company directors.
· Proof of personal investment (minimum 250,000USD) **
· Investment certificate
· Proof of land ownership or lease agreement (where necessary)
- Write a covering letter to the Chief Immigration Officer.
**If the investment is in monetary form, the proof should be in form of a bank transfer. If the investment is in capital, proof should be in the form of a customs clearance documentation.
