08.01.2021 – The Lusaka Regional Immigration Office has removed fifty-three (53) illegal immigrants from the country. This was during a mass removal exercise conducted on 7th January 2021. The majority of those removed were apprehended during a clean-up operation conducted on 5th January 2021, in various parts of Lusaka by the same office. Those removed were twenty-seven (27) Burundians, eleven (11) Rwandese, ten (10) Somalis, one (01) Kenyan, and one (01) Ugandan. Similarly, in other parts of the country twenty-five (25) other illegal immigrants of different nationalities were removed on the same day.

The Department also apprehended six (06) suspected illegal immigrants and refused two (02) foreign nationals entry into Zambia for failing to meet entry requirements.

We wish to encourage anyone aware of an individual, business, or employer who may be aiding and abetting illegal immigrants to contact the Department of Immigration.
